Liang Yang
Liang Yang was selected as a leading talent in science and technology innovation under the Hunan Province Furong Plan. Born in 1977, he received his Ph.D. degree from Sun Yat-sen University in 2006. He previously conducted postdoctoral research at City University of Hong Kong and Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ).
He has published over 170 IEEE journal papers, among which 13 are ESI Highly Cited Papers and 2 are ESI Hot Papers. His H-index is 46 on both Google Scholar and ResearchGate. He has been consecutively listed in the Stanford Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists in the World for six years, and was named to the Elsevier “China Highly Cited Scholars” list in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
He has served as Principal Investigator for five projects funded by the NSFC and one project under the National Key Research and Development Program. He is also the topic leader for a key project of the NSFC Regional Innovation and Development Joint Fund. He serves as an Editorial Board Member for several international journals, including IEEE-TCOM、IEEE-TCCN、IEEE-TVT、IEEE-IoT-J、IEEE-WCL、IEEE-COMML, Science China: Information Sciences, Journal on Communications, Journal of Electronics & Information Technology, and Journal of Internet of Things.
He was the recipient of the Guangdong Provincial Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award in 2007. He received the Second Prize of the Hunan Provincial Natural Science Award (ranked first) in 2019, was honored as an Outstanding Science and Technology Worker by the Chinese Institute of Electronics in 2021, and received the IEEE WCL Best Editor Award in 2020. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Hunan Institute of Electronics.
